WHY ABC IS RUNNING AGAIN.

I struggled to represent the student front in the past year but unfortunately I could not make it. Not because I did not deserve to represent the student body. I was just a victim of a heart broken disqualification verdict. Friends, I have had a first-hand experience in academic failure, although I was  once the overall best student of politics in the first year. The sacrifice of time I made in my quest to serve as SRC president last year had a toll on me and therefore I could not write the end of the semester examination. I was asked to repeat a class. I did not have a choice than to forfeit a whole academic year and start over as a third — year student.

Academic excellence has always been my motivation to give my best. I completed Oda SHS. In my Senior year,  my classmates and I had to take the final national exams that determine whether we could attend University, just like any other student. I was among some few students who proved him wrong and passed all the subjects. My determination for achieving success so far stems from the grace of God in whom I believe and trust.

A lot of students have asked, why  is ABC still running?. Did he get repeated because he wanted to contest again?. Indeed, it is very tempting for any objectively observer to label me as a student who repeated because I  wanted to run for the position of SRC President. If the power was in my hand to join my friends in the final year class I would have chosen that over the repetition of class. I have been a victim of vicious and unwarranted propaganda. My crime?  I want to serve the good people of KNUST. After being a victim of a heart- broken verdict, my hope and aspirations almost died out until I remembered the challenges which have engulfed colleague students.

Reminiscing on the struggles we have endured, and the faith we have kept, and the hurdles we have won, I was reminded of these words, "When you see something  that is not right, not fair, not just, you have a moral obligation, a mission, and a mandate to do something about it” ---DUTY BOUND.This is worth pounds of diamond to me. This usual parlance has instilled in me a new wave of discipline, determination and a positive outlook.  It meant that whatever the situation, one still has a choice and that our actions and reactions should make a situation a positive one to the benefit of everybody.
